Madison Fae was raised up on the wrong side of the tracks— by the very best people, in a beautiful old Victorian-era farmhouse in smalltown + countryside, Iowa.
She and her family never quite fit in there (and since her hometown was surrounded by cornfields), Madison started singing + spinning stories at a young age; writing, directing + performing plays that often starred the family dog. She became immersed in theatre in high school + was always in trouble with the soccer team for skipping practice to go to play rehearsals.
After graduating with degrees in Performing Arts + Vocal Music + Spanish, Madison moved to Louisville, KY for the apprenticeship at Actors Theatre of Louisville, where she performed in the Humana Festival. Madison continued her training in the acting company at Williamstown Theatre Festival and is currently living and working in New York City.
As an artist...
Madison likes work that is gritty, imaginative + as clever as it is poetic.
She is a member of PowerOut + The Living Room theatre companies and has developed work with Williamstown Theatre Festival, Perseverance Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop, The Public, NAMT, New Georges + The Lark.
In the city...
Madison also works as a teaching artist in the Bronx with the WOMENS HOUSING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Corporation, where she facilitates enrichment for kindergarten - middle school students in Social Justice and Drama.
In her spare time, Madison can be found roaming around NYC with a long, undone to-do list, looking for good Thai food + listening to old-time string bands.
